There is no such thing as a person being a failure. If a person were to be a failure, it would naturally feel amazing to fail at everything. The reason we don’t like failing is because it is not who we are. Pigs don’t stress about dirt because that’s what they are, dirty.
Human beings are designed for greatness. There’s a very good reason why every one of us wants to live an amazing life, and that’s because we are amazing and just seeking self. Our nature is to want what’s good, and again, that’s because our nature is good.
It takes a lot of effort to be a bad person and it’s so costly and very unpleasant. Yet some people do it because of the amount of pain they’re carrying and just not having enough strength.
The other misconception of failure is that it only produces weakness out of us. This is something we’ve all been taught from a young age. The truth is that failure is rich with information. New data means new analysis and that can spark anything. Sometimes to do something well you have to really know how not to do it anymore because of repeated failed attempts. Sometimes to get to know what you want you have to be clear about what you don’t want. The things we don’t want, the things we didn’t do right, the things we don’t know, are important progressive steps along the path to our desires.
To fail can make you strong also if you let it, no matter how much time has passed without seeing the lesson. Sometimes you have to be mad enough to act on the failure for the better. Negative emotions can also be powerful motivators if we learn about them and see them clearly for what they are. Understanding can be much more powerful than problem solving. Most people who are in a negative thinking loop are actually looking for understanding more than anything. When people know why something has happened they’re most likely to be at peace.
So instead of trying to solve a problem, sometimes all you need is to know why it’s there. And that alone sometimes is enough.
One of the most eye opening things was when I discovered that people who commit suicide do so because they have an idea in their hearts of what a good life should be and what they are experiencing in their reality was so far removed from what they believed and felt deep down and that disparity is too much to bear. We can easily forget that it’s the greatness in us that causes us to be anxious when life doesn’t seem so great. When the outer world is not reflecting what we really are, we stress. That’s when we say we are out of alignment with our true nature.
